On July 25 children piled into the hall to hear the 2008 speech finals. Fourteen nervous students prepared to say their speeches on a range of topics from why chocolate is good for you to following your dreams. The contestants bravely presented their speech in front of the whole school. At the end of the competition the nerves were gone and then everyone waited for the final results. The contestants and results were as follows:
Year 7 Contestants:
Jack Dai, Dhruvi Patel, Julia Musgrave, Lucinda Crawford, Lucy Kelly, Sana Karowadia, Grace Kaifa.
Year 8 Contestants:
Kalyan Todha, Frank Fonokalafi, Tina Tuibenau, Sam Robertson, Moasegi McCarthy, Ryan Palmer, James Kimiangatau.
Year 7 Results:

2nd: Grace Kaifa

1st: Ryan Palmer
2nd: James Kimiangatau
Overall Winner:
Jack Dai
